Visit durations and walking times are planning estimates. Timetables and admission rules come from the linked operators.
Plan your visit
One full day works for the centre and one outer cluster. Add a second day for Niūronys or a long railway trip.
Allow roughly 6 km from the centre to Puntukas and roughly 7 km to Niūronys by road. These are route-planning estimates, not short links between adjacent sights.
What to see
Treetop Walking Path and Puntukas
The elevated walkway and observation tower show the forest canopy and Šventoji valley. Puntukas is beside the same visitor cluster, with reliefs commemorating aviators Darius and Girėnas. Allow 1-1.5 hours for both, longer with a forest walk.
Official visitor informationBaranauskas and Vienuolis museum
The granary associated with Baranauskas and the memorial-house displays explain why Anykščiai matters in Lithuanian literature. Allow 45-60 minutes for a focused central visit.
Official visitor informationSiaurukas railway
Historic railway equipment and a published excursion offer a different view of the district. Short rides and the Anykščiai-Rubikiai trip have different lengths and departure points. Choose a specific programme before setting the rest of the day.
Official visitor informationHorse Museum, Niūronys
Carts, agricultural equipment, a smithy and rural buildings explain the horse’s role in working life. Allow 1.5-2 hours. Craft sessions and riding are separately arranged activities; do not assume they run continuously for walk-in visitors.

Access and shorter alternatives
The park currently states that visitors with reduced mobility cannot access the treetop walkway or tower. The information centre has an accessible toilet.
By car: two clusters
Visit Puntukas and the treetop path in the morning, return to town for lunch and the literary museum, then drive to Niūronys for the Horse Museum. This is a full day with road transfers. If you book a railway excursion, replace a cluster rather than adding the train to an already crowded afternoon.
A realistic car-free day
From the bus station, keep the church, riverside and literary museum as the core. Add Puntukas with a prearranged return taxi or a bicycle if the route and weather suit you. The official park route describes about 3.5 km along the wellness path from the visitor centre before the final approach towards Puntukas; the walk from the town centre is longer.
The tourism office lists a summer sightseeing minibus between the centre and the treetop path. For an October visit, confirm a departure before relying on it. Keep Niūronys for a separate day if you cannot arrange transport.
Book the railway first
On Siaurukas, choose the journey and date, then follow Užsisakykite bilietus internetu to the operator’s ticket seller. Check whether the departure is from Anykščiai or Panevėžys, the return time and the duration. For Anykščiai questions, the short-trip page lists +370 663 65377 and anyksciai@siaurukas.eu. A museum admission ticket is not an excursion booking.
Rain and limited mobility
In poor weather, choose the literary or railway museum rather than a long forest walk. For a shorter outdoor visit, take a taxi to the Puntukas visitor area.
