Town centre or a forest stay
For a first visit without a car, start around A. Baranausko Square and the church: this keeps the town walk, meals and shops together. A forest-side property suits a slower stay, but is a different base from a central apartment. Choose the setting around the part of Anykščiai you want to spend time in, rather than assuming every address gives the same access.
Two hotel options to compare
SPA VILNIUS Anykščiai and Nykščio namai are two named hotel options with their own published spa offers. Compare the room-only or package rate with the actual pool, sauna and treatment access you want; a hotel’s spa name does not mean every treatment is included. For a family apartment, compare bedroom layout and kitchen space with the hotel room instead of comparing only the headline price.
Plan the out-of-town sights separately
The Treetop Walking Path, Puntukas Stone, the narrow-gauge railway and the church tower are separate itinerary stops. Put them on your map before selecting a room; being in Anykščiai does not make all of them one walk from the door. For one or two nights, group the town sights together and give the forest outing its own transport plan.
Apartments, Rubikiai and the return journey
A central self-catering apartment suits visitors who want meals at home and a town walk. A sodyba near Rubikiai or the Šventoji suits a lake or countryside break, especially with a car. For a rural booking, settle the sleeping layout, access and return from your chosen activity before paying. Keep the arrival town and the final journey to the property as separate parts of the plan.
SPA VILNIUS: a stay in the pinewood
SPA VILNIUS Anykščiai is at Vilniaus g. 80, in the Anykščiai pinewood. Its room choices include doubles, twins, studios and a family suite, with restaurant MIŠKE on site. Choose it when the forest setting, meals at the hotel and time for spa treatments are central to the break. This is a different choice from an apartment by A. Baranausko Square: plan a separate journey when you want an evening in the town centre.
Nykščio namai: hotel room or apartment with a kitchen
Nykščio namai is at Liudiškių g. 18. Alongside double rooms and a room with a sofa bed, it offers a specific apartment with two bedrooms, a living room and a kitchenette. That layout is worth comparing if children need a separate bedroom or you want to prepare meals during a longer stay; select that apartment category rather than assuming every room has cooking facilities. The spa has a pool, whirlpool, sauna and steam room, plus a children’s pool. For a family, the useful comparison is therefore the sleeping and cooking layout at Nykščio namai versus the pinewood setting and room choices at SPA VILNIUS.
Arriving by coach and reaching your accommodation
Anykščiai bus station is at A. Vienuolio g. 1. Use that address as your arrival point when planning the final journey to your accommodation. A central apartment suits a stay built around the square, church and restaurants; the two hotels above have their own addresses on Vilniaus and Liudiškių streets. With luggage or an evening arrival, arrange the final taxi or pickup to the hotel itself. For a Rubikiai or other rural stay, include that onward journey in the booking plan rather than treating arrival at Anykščiai bus station as arrival at the property.
